Board of Trustees

The Calvary Day School (CDS) Board of Trustees (BOT) is comprised of seven volunteers.  The Board consists of three Calvary Baptist Temple (CBT) members, one of which shall be the Senior Pastor or an Elder of CBT appointed by the Senior Pastor, and four members shall be non-CBT members, one of which shall be the pastor of a local church. The Head of School of CDS serves as an ex-officio Trustee of the Board. Trustees serve a three-year term and are elected through a nominating committee and approval process. Trustees may elect to serve a second consecutive term before rolling off for a minimum of one year. Contact Email: cdsboard@calvarydayschool.com

  • Mike Offer - Chair

    Michael Offer is the Chief Operations Executive of the J.C. Lewis Automotive Dealerships. Michael and his wife Jan moved to Savannah in 2008. They are the proud parents of 2 children, John (’24), and Mikey (’28) Michael has served on the board of Calvary for seven years. He is a Deacon and active member of Compassion Christian Church.
  • Chris Witherington - Vice Chair

    Chris is co-owner of Classic Craft Dental Laboratory.  He is a ’97 Calvary graduate and received a B.S. in biology from the University of Georgia.  Chris and his wife, Elizabeth, are the parents of 3 children, Grady (’25), Davis (’27), and Gwyn (’30).  Chris has coached football, basketball, and baseball for the school, served on the board for 4 years, and is an active member of Compassion Christian Church.


  • Forbes Buck - Treasurer

    Forbes is a Certified Public Accountant by profession and has worked in the public accounting field for over 20 years. He was drawn into and continues in the field due to its emphasis on honesty, dedication and trust. He currently runs a practice focused on providing family office style functions to his clients.
    Originally from Atlanta, Forbes has an undergraduate degree in Accounting and a Master of Accountancy in Taxation from the University of Georgia. He and his wife, Sarah, have three children currently enrolled at Calvary and are members of Compassion Christian Church.
  • Jonathan Phillips (Member)

    Pastor Jonathan Phillips has been in the Savannah area for over 15 years. He has been the Pastor at Silk Hope Baptist Church for the last 13. His calling to Pastor has always been accompanied with his passion to work with kids in the sports arena. Along with being the community pastor representative, Jonathan is an assistant baseball and football coach. He is married to Lori (25years) and has 4 children that have all walked the halls of Calvary Day School.



  • Dr. Bart Wetherington (Member)

    Dr. Bart Wetherington is one of Savannah and Pooler’s top chiropractors. Voted Best Chiropractor by Savannah Magazine and featured in Savannah Morning News as the best chiropractor, Dr. Wetherington is the only board-certified Atlas Orthogonal chiropractor in the Savannah, Georgia, area. He knows it’s very difficult to function and have a measure of happiness in life when you are constantly suffering in pain. Wetherington Chiropractic Clinic provides relief from that pain and can get you back on the road to doing things that you enjoy. Dr. Wetherington has volunteered in several leadership roles at CDS and CBT within many areas of the school and church. He and his wife Lisa have 4 children. The Wetherington family are lifetime Cavaliers and three of their children are Calvary alumni.



  • Andrea Whelan (Member)

    Andrea Whelan is executive vice president of Direct Sales and Service & Supply and Order Fulfillment at JCB Inc.  Whelan’s role includes implementing sales and service strategies to strengthen JCB’s partnerships with key strategic customers and managing machine supply chain including order fulfillment, shipping, and inventory management. Prior to joining JCB, Whelan worked in sales and marketing roles within the industrial manufacturing space. Andrea is married to Vincent Whelan. They are members of Calvary Baptist Temple, where Vincent was ordained as a pastor in 2021. Vincent teaches Upper School Bible at Calvary Day School and together they share a son, Oliver, who is a rising eighth grader.

  • Glenn Jones (Member)

    Glenn is a Realtor in Savannah with Seaport Real Estate. Glenn is a 44 year member of Calvary Baptist where he currently serves as an Elder. Glenn and his wife Lynda (Calvary graduate & former Calvary teacher) have 2 children. Meghan Newell (Daniel) and Blake Jones (Candace) who are Calvary graduates. Glenn and Lynda are proud Grandparents of Pierce (4yrs) and Lane (1yr) who both attend Calvary Day School. Glenn and his family are lifelong Cavaliers. Glenn was an assistant softball & baseball coach (4yrs) and an assistant basketball coach (14 yrs) at Calvary.
  • Dr. Hunter Chadwick - Head of School ( Ex-Officio Member)


    Dr. Hunter Chadwick began his educational career in lower school teaching K – 4.  He taught Spanish and World History at the upper school level and became the program coordinator for students’ at-risk program at Bradwell Institute in Hinesville, GA. Then he served as the Director of Curriculum at Savannah Christian Preparatory School.  After receiving his doctorate, Dr. Chadwick and his family moved to Roswell, GA, and he served in administration at Fellowship Christian School.  Dr. Chadwick served as the Head of Upper School at King’s Ridge Christian School for 7 years before joining Calvary Day School as the Head of School. He is beginning his 5th year at Calvary. Bringing financial stability to CDS while improving the co-curricular offerings and academic rigor of the school are just a few of the many transitions Dr. Chadwick has led in his time at Calvary. Assisting in the development of the CDS Board of Trustees and strategic plan for the future were tremendous accomplishments while building the Calvary Day School Foundation to set CDS apart from any school in the area. Hunter and his wife Erin have a large family with multiple grandchildren. He has 3 children at CDS along with several grandchildren. Erin serves as the Director of College Counseling at CDS.
